As a recruiter, Roxie is challenged to find the "right fit" for the client's specific job description. After all, the client is paying a recruiter to find "the one". The client can easily post online themselves and find a "sort of".
Make sure you are qualified for the jobs you apply for and do not expect a recruiter to try to change what the client is looking for. The client has a pretty good idea of what they need and don't want anyone wasting their time.
If you are a junior candidate applying for a senior role you will not be considered young man!
If you are a senior candidate applying for a junior role, don't be trying to talk your recruiter into asking the client to spend more to pay for your skills old girl!

Roxie Tip: Know what you are qualified for, only apply to jobs that match your skills. Be honest with yourself about what's a fit and focus on those roles. You and your employer will be happier in the long run.
